James Moss, partner in First River, has been a strategy consultant in Europe and the United States since 1985, helping steel companies develop and implement business & corporate strategies. He has consulted widely to the North American and international steel industries since 1989 on assignments ranging from raw materials planning, product range extensions, senior team building to wholesale strategic and organizational change.

James’ experience covers all types of steel products in carbon as well as stainless and specialty grade families. His work is focused on helping senior executives develop clearly focused strategies that lead to growth and superior returns. Prior to forming First River with partner Tony Taccone in 1998, James practiced independently following many years as a consultant with Beddows & Company, now part of HATCH.

James is a dual citizen of the US & the United Kingdom and lives in Pittsburgh, PA. He holds a Masters in Strategy & Organization Development from Pepperdine University, California in addition to a Masters in English Literature from Cambridge University, England
