Roberto Pancaldi is the CEO of Tenova, a Techint Group company, and a worldwide partner for sustainable, innovative, and reliable solutions in the metals and mining industries.

After graduating magna cum laude in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Roberto Pancaldi joined the Techint Group as Process Engineer in 1988. In the following years, he occupied several positions as Project Engineer, Project Manager, Procurement Director, Sales Director, and Sales & Marketing Vice President, in various companies and units within the Group.

In 2005, he founded Tenova HYL, a startup company located in Monterrey, Mexico, which today is the world’s leading supplier of technologies, processes, services, and equipment for the Direct Reduction industry.

In 2011, after 6 years as President and CEO of Tenova HYL, Roberto Pancaldi was appointed as Tenova Senior Vice President in charge of the Cold Rolling Mill and Strip Processing Plants business. Since then, he increasingly covered important roles in several business areas and companies in Tenova.

In 2014 he was appointed as Managing Director of the Thermprocessing Business Unit, in charge of the Industrial and Metals Furnaces business of Tenova. In addition to this responsibility, in 2015 he became also Chief Operating Officer of the Tenova Metals Division and, in 2016, Executive Vice President with the responsibility of the downstream business.

In January 2018, Roberto Pancaldi succeeded Andrea Rocca as CEO of Tenova Metals, and in April 2020 he became CEO of Tenova.
