Sandeep Nijhawan is CEO and Co-Founder of Electra, a company reinventing iron production from the ground up. Nijhawan has been at the center of deep-technology and venture investments for over 20 years, advancing climate-focused technologies including LEDs, electrolyzers for the hydrogen economy, and distributed energy storage solutions. Leveraging his entrepreneurial background and experience with electrochemical systems, Nijhawan founded Electra in 2020 with the vision of using electricity and chemistry to produce the iron metal necessary for steelmaking without the emissions and environmental impact.

He has a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur, India, a PhD inMechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the InternationalInstitute of Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
